How to Reset Your iPod

Sooner or later your iPod will probably have a hiccup. The screen may freeze or the song won't play. In fact, you may think something is seriously wrong with your iPod. Fear not, 99% of the time it only takes a reset to fix.

Firt things first, remove it from the case if it is in one. and examine the "hold" button on the top. If this has acccidently been moved to the locked position the problem is solved by sliding it back to the unlock position.

Assuming the hold button was not the problem, it's time to reset the ipod. To do this you need to hold the unit firmly. Hold down the "center" part of the clickwheel while at the SAME TIME holding the MENU or upper part of the clickwheel. Hold them for several seconds until the unit goes black and the Apple Logo comes on. Once the Apple logo appears the unit has been reset. After a few seconds the iPod will be back to it's old self.

If the Reset didn't make things right, you may be forced to do a complete Restore. (follow the link below)
